A national organization currently comprising 136 members, ACAM is dedicated to promoting the effective use of special masters in state and federal courts. Each year, ACAM members nationwide gather to advance scholarship and research regarding special masters during the organization's annual meeting.
The 2018 edition of the ACAM Annual Meeting took place April 12-14 at the Omni Royal Orleans Hotel in New Orleans. Along with a reception and other networking activities, the three-day event featured panel discussions led by attorneys and judges from across the country. Educational programming at the meeting focused on the use of special masters in social-reform litigation, mass tort cases, and criminal law. In addition, the event included a session focused on special master ethics and insurance issues.
Those interested in reviewing the topics discussed during the ACAM 2018 Annual Meeting can access session handouts on the organization's website. ACAM is now looking ahead to its 2019 meeting, which will be held April 11-13 in Chicago.
