A member of the Academy of Court-Appointed Masters, Edgar "Ed" Gentle is an attorney and partner at the Birmingham, Alabama, law firm of Gentle Turner Sexton & Harbison. Away from work, Ed Gentle enjoys reading novels by his favorite authors, including John Green.

Two of Green's novels, Paper Towns and The Fault in Our Stars, have been adapted into feature films, while another, Looking for Alaska, is in development as a limited series at Hulu. Now, a novel to which he contributed, Let It Snow: Three Holiday Romances, is being made into a film for Netflix.

Green wrote the romantic holiday novel with Lauren Myracle and Maureen Johnson. The 2008 publication tells the story of a historic snowstorm on Christmas Eve that affects the plans and relationships of high school seniors.
Production on the film will begin in early 2019, with Dylan Clark, producer of the Planet of the Apes franchise, producing and Luke Snellin directing. The film's initial script was written by Kay Cannon, but it has been revised by Michael Weber and Scott Neustadter, both of whom worked on adaptions of Paper Towns and The Fault in Our Stars.
